Mexicali, B.C. – January 6, 2026
Raptware, the independent development studio originally founded in 2003, announces its official return to the global gaming scene with the launch of a major update for its flagship title: Chon's Boxes.
Founded by industry veterans with over a decade of experience at AAA companies like Gameloft, Raptware blends the nostalgia of classic design with modern technology. The studio, led by Roberto Pavón (Rapt), aims to rescue the essence of the games that defined an era, adapting them for a new generation of players.
The Rebirth of a Classic Chon's Boxes, originally a logic prototype born in a university lab, has evolved from a simple Sokoban-style puzzle into a complex adventure experience. "We didn't just want to move boxes. We wanted the player to feel the progression of a Zelda-style dungeon," says Roberto, Lead Developer.
The new update, scheduled for early 2026, transforms the game into a "Premium" experience, featuring:
-
Deep Mechanics: Implementation of items, in-game currency, and dynamic hint systems.
-
Expanded Narrative: Featuring iconic characters Chon and Chun, facing off against rivals Chan, Bo and Arly.
-
Hybrid Technology: Development that merges veteran artisanal logic with cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence tools to enhance art and level design.
About Raptware Raptware was born from the passion of three students (Rapt, Doug, and Yokan) in Veracruz, Mexico. After a successful tenure developing corporate mobile and Flash games, the team has returned to its independent roots. Their historical portfolio includes Flash-era cult hits such as Aoyama Gones Wild, Double Blaster and Trap a Tuna.
The studio reaffirms its original mission: to create games with soul, made by developers who love playing as much as they love coding.
